Stage 1
Tier I (CBT)
200 marks
Objective Online

60 minutes, 100 questions. Sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning (25), General Awareness (25), Quantitative Aptitude (25), English Comprehension (25). Negative marking of 0.50.

Stage 2
Tier II (CBT)
300–800 marks
Objective Online

For CGL: Module I (Mathematical Abilities + Reasoning, 150 min) and Module II (English Language + General Awareness + Computer Knowledge, 60 min). CHSL Tier II is descriptive.

Stage 3
Tier III / Skill Test
Qualifying
Descriptive / Skill

For CGL: Descriptive paper (Essay + Letter, 250 marks). For DEO posts: Typing/Data Entry Skill Test. Document Verification follows selection.
