90 minutes, 100 questions. Mathematics (30), General Intelligence & Reasoning (30), General Awareness (40). Negative marking of 1/3 per wrong answer. Qualifying / screening stage.
For NTPC: 90 minutes, General Awareness (50), Mathematics (35), Reasoning (35). For ALP/JE: Technical syllabus included. CBT 2 marks count towards final merit.
For Group D: Physical Efficiency Test (PET). For ALP: Aptitude Test (AT) on computer. For NTPC (some posts): Typing Skill Test. Document Verification is the final step.

Mathematics shortcuts (especially ratio, percentage, time-work) can save 20–30 seconds per question

Solve RRB previous year papers (2019, 2022 cycles) — many questions repeat with slight variation
